Yesterday, UMNO Youth Vice Chief Khairul Azwan Harun has called for the government to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on BMF-Forex Scandals after 26 years the issue exploded in 1991.
It is not too late for UMNO Youth to learn the need to set up RCIs on the issues and scandals that have hit the nation severely. UMNO Youth should not wait for another 26 years, to make a similar call, for the formation of a RCI on 1MDB scandal where none other than the Prime Minister, Najib Tun Razak, is personally implicated in.
Everyone knows why Khairul Azwan is calling for a RCI on BMF-Forex after 26 years. Khairul’s wish to silent Tun Mahathir has backfired when the latter has agreed for the formation of RCIs not only on BMF-Forex but also on 1MDB scandal.
The opposition has called for the establishment of RCI on 1MDB back in July 2016, immediately after the seizure of assets linked to 1MDB by US DOJ. We have since only heard the relentlessly defence by UMNO Youth on Najib Razak and none in the UMNO Youth wing had ever echoed the call for the RCI on 1MDB.
Khairul has been overly eager in showing his loyalty and has now check-mated Najib Razak by himself. Najib was one of the UMNO cabinet minister during BMF-Forex and he is now the main and top person involved in the 1MDB scandal.
Khairul has now scored an old goal into Najib’s court. Is Najib ready to take the challenge and consent to the formation of RCI on both BMF-Forex and 1MDB Scandals?
