Sabahan is urged to express their disagreement with the Federal Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan who have said that “get Sabah and Sarawak’s view first before changing Prime Minister”, by joining a Facebook campaign of “Rakyat Sabah #TolakNajib”.
It’s simple for the general public to participate in the movement by voicing out their unhappiness following Ringgit value downfall mainly due to inefficient and incompetence Najib administration. They just need to upload their photo of taking ‘Rakyat Sabah #TolakNajib’ printed paper to their FB account, or set the image of ‘Rakyat Sabah #TolakNajib’ as their cover photo of FB.
The Sabah BN Secretary has warned that there would be dire consequences if the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is unseated without taking into account the feelings of East Malaysia, and said that “no other prime minister had contributed to Sabah and Sarawak as much as Najib did.”
It is totally insulting for the people of the Sabah and Sarawak.
Don’t assume both states are fixed deposit to Najib’s administration. The voice of people speaks differently. Not all Sabahans and Sarawakians love BN and Najib. For instance, even Dahlan’s own election result was not impressive in last election. About half of Sabah voters reject BN and Dahlan himself. BN’s popularity is expected further declined after series of issues recently, e.g. GST, 1MDB, 2.6 billion donation etc. How can you assume we all love Najib so much?
In last general election, Abdul Rahman Dahlan won Kota Belud parliamentary seat by getting only 50.1% of the voters in the constituency, while BN only gained 55% of total popular votes in Sabah during the last general election.
Meanwhile, Dahlan is urged to expedite the municipal solid waste treatment plant project which is under his ministry’s jurisdiction, in order to prove the current Najib’s administration “love Sabah so much”.
If Najib really contributed so much, we won’t have so many basic problems here. As the people representative of Tawau, I have openly appealed for the following projects when Najib visited Tawau early of May to woo the support here. But nothing being announced, Najib’s visit as good as touch and go.
The projects are as the following:
- Construction of Coastal highway from Kg Titingan to Tinagat
- Expediting flood mitigation plan project
- Expediting Cinta Mata water dam project
- Constructing a new anchor power plant in Tawau as East Coast of Sabah has -30% of power reserves
- Upgrading internet connectivity in Tawau
- Constructing a new solid waste management plant in Tawau
- Increasing numbers of police in Tawau to combat crime
- Upgrading of Tawau hospital facility including carpark and increase numbers of medical staff there
- Constructing a new multi storey car park beside Tanjong Market
- Dredging and upgrading facilities of Tawau port
Among the projects, I would like to remind Dahlan that, construction of a totally new solid waste treatment plant to cater the needs of Tawau, Kunak and Semporna already proposed few years back. This is under your ministry jurisdiction. Please get Najib’s approval and also the necessary funding to kick off the project. Actions speak louder than words.
