Liow should use his “Key Role” in BN to reject RUU355 and get a proper investigation into 1MDB going

MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai should use his “key role”1 in Barisan Nasional (BN) to get BN to reject the propose amendments to RUU355 and get a proper investigation into 1MDB going. Liow claimed that MCA is still playing that key role in the MCA’s 68th anniversary celebrations recently.

However, it is more likely that Liow will achieve neither, as he is a toothless tiger in BN, unable to stand up to wrong doings of UMNO and PM Najib Tun Razak.

Instead of brushing aside suggestions for MCA to quit the BN as “immoral and illegal”, Liow should instead be brave enough to use the threat to leave BN if its big brother UMNO refuses to heed its views on PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s private member’s bill. He must not forget, it was an UMNO minister that brought the motion to speed up the hearing of Hadi’s private member bill in the previous parliamentary session.

Liow must also realise that the Chinese community has by large abandoned both MCA and BN because they are sick and tired to grand corruption that continues blatantly, with the 1MDB corrupt practices gaining the attention of most international press.

If it fails to do take up this challenge, Malaysians of not just Chinese descent but of all races can be sure they cannot count of MCA.
