Malindo should tender an apology to the applicants and all women in Malaysia.

I disagree with Malindo Air public relations and communications director Raja Sa’adi Raja Amrin. Malindo has no right to request potential flight attendants to expose their chest to interviewers and bare their legs thigh-high.

Raja Sa’adi said such checks were necessary as their uniforms were “partially see-through”.

If they really need to know if the applicants had visible marks due to the material of Malindo’s uniform, they can just ask. If the applicants do not give an honest answer, they can always terminate their employment later. Why is there a need to ask them to remove their clothes?

Also, why applicants with visible marks cannot become flight attendants? Flight attendants provide their service, not selling their body.

By asking them to remove their clothes, Malindo has already intruded the privacy of the applicants, and insult their modesty. They should be investigated under Section 509 of Penal Code immediately.
