MCA is a party without political principles, courage and pride.

Two days ago, I have challenged MCA and Gerakan to boycott BN’s campaign in the upcoming Sungai Limau by election.

My grounds for such a challenge are:-

  1. Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Mukhriz is practicing politics of vengeance by punishing non BN supporters .
  2. Mukhriz has not retracted or apologized for his Dec 1, 2008 remarks where he called for the abolition of vernacular schools.
  3. MCA and Gerakan leaders have recently criticized Mukkriz for his favoured treatment of BN supporters.

In The Star today, Kedah State Chairman Chong Itt Chew has defended MCA’s decision to campaign for BN in the by election.

But instead of saying why MCA cannot boycott the campaign, he has chosen to side track the issue by talking about PAS objective of establishing a theocratic state.

This only goes to show that not only MCA knows that it cannot defend the indefensible, MCA is a party without political principles, courage and pride.

I have known that it will be futile to ask MCA to leave BN coalition as it is too dependent on BN for its continued survival but I thought it would at least have the courage to do the minimum – by boycotting the BN campaign in Sungai Limau by election.

Yet MCA cannot even do this minimum to protest against Mukhriz’s practice of punishing non BN supporters.

Let me advise Chong Itt Chew to read all DAP’s past statements to understand DAP’s stand on PAS’s objective and to read the Pakatan Rakyat’s election manifesto to understand the policies of Pakatan Rakyat.

DAP stand is very clear. Our cooperation with PAS is not for the establishment of an Islamic state.

In the May 5 polls where MCA has suffered its worst ever electoral result, MCA has launched an aggressive campaign against the DAP using the Islamic State issue.

But the people saw through MCA’s lies and reduced MCA to a 7-11 party that it is today.
