I can understand the unpopularity of the BN parties in the coming general election. But what I cannot understand is why they have to adopt very desperate measures to the point of shaming themselves in front of the general public.
PH organised the second public talk in front of the Perai Selva Vinaygar temple yesterday evening, an event well-attended by mostly Indians in the vicinity.
While the event was proceeding smoothly about three individuals led by BN/MIC candidate for Perai state seat Suresh Muniandy barged in to stop the event.
He together with the two other local thugs demanded that we can cancel as it clashed with the religious event in the nearby temple.
I told these individuals that they have no business of telling us what to do and told them not to interfere in a public event that was approved by the police.
By the way, the public talk was not held in the temple compound but on a piece of land owned by the Penang Hindu Endowments Board.
With the intervention of the police they left the place. Some members of the public reprimanded Suresh and his local thugs for interfering with a public talk.
The action by Suresh and his friends is a small indication of how desperate BN is in winning the coming general election.
Suresh knowing that he stands no chance in winning the Perai seat resorted to a all familiar BN thuggery to intimidate those who gathered at the event.
The people of Perai will stand firm as to who they will choose as their state representative. BN intimidation or threat would not simply work.
