Former premier had repeatedly claimed innocence over the world’s biggest financial scandal involving a country’s leader. Just days ago, he explained that the blame for the 1MDB scandal cannot be pinned on a single. “1MDB not one man’s fault, it’s a systemic failure”, said Najib.
He, however, has yet to produce a single ounce of evidence to prove his claim, 8 months after he singled handedly caused the downfall of BN in the last general election.
On Friday, the Malaysian police issued a notice to track down 4 individuals in connection with the investigation into 1MDB. They are the fugitive financier Low Taek Jho’s parents, Tan Sri Larry Low Hock Peng and Goh Gaik Ewe, Singaporean national Shabnam Naraindas Daswani @ Natasha Mirpuri and Tan Kim Loong.
Speaking to Reuters in June last year, Najib said: “If I knew there was going to be misappropriation of funds, if that was my knowledge, I would have acted”. It is not too late to act. Najib should be the first to step forward to assist the police. Turn in Jho Low and his family. It is Najib’s golden opportunity to bring forward those he insists are the “real” culprits to cleanse his name and prove his innocence, while doing the nation a great service in capturing the people who almost brought the nation to financial ruins.
Umno and other BN components should also offer monetary rewards for anyone who can locate Jho Low and his 4 gangs in the effort to help their former boss who now becomes “bosku” to clear his criminal involvement allegations in the theft of 1MDB.
In addition, I would like to call upon the police to add Jho Low’s siblings to the list. Aside from being the managing director at Jynwel Capital, Low Taek Szen was also party to the alleged transaction layering to launder the money. His sister, Low May-Lin spearheaded the BVI work at her previous law firm, and is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of the British Virgin Islands. She is believed to specialise in offshore structures. She has the expertise to set-up companies for the family, and is believed to have done so.
