Ninth Commission Meeting of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership

I was in Melbourne, Australia last week to attend the Ninth Commission Meeting of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

It was an especially meaningful occasion as we also launched the inaugural CPTPP Trade and Investment Dialogue with ASEAN which I co-chaired with the Australian Minister for Trade and Tourism, Senator Don Farrell.

Together with the first CPTPP-EU Trade and Investment Dialogue, these platforms reinforce CPTPP’s role in shaping the global economic architecture and deepening engagement with major trading partners.

Different economies across the world need to collaborate, and not compete with each other.
