With the revelation by DAP National Chairman, Lim Guan Eng in the Penang State Assembly that the Barisan Nasional Deputy Chairman Mohamad Hasan had no knowledge of the so-called BN booklet “Bahan Kempen Komunikasi BN”, the onus is on Wan Saiful to prove that the booklet was a BN publication, who was responsible for it and when it was published.
The document was supposedly used in the BN’s 15th general election campaign.
The former Bersatu information chief had challenged Guan Eng to sue BN over allegations made by the PAS MP for Kepala Batas, Siti Mastura Mohamad that Guan Eng and I were related to the Malayan Communist Party leader, Chin Peng and the founder Singapore premier, whom Mastura named “Lim” Kuan Yew.
But the onus is now on Wan Saiful to prove that the booklet was a BN publication, who was responsible for it and when it was published.
It will be a mark of the continuation of the national decline of Malaysia and our inability to correct course and rise up again as a great world-class nation if our educational and political systems are identified with kangkong professors, Members of Parliament who are media illiterates and PHD holders who cannot identify lies, falsehoods, fake news and hate speech.
It makes me wonder why the Opposition today, whether Bersatu or PAS, attract the worst in the Malaysian society, instead of the best and whether these political parties can reform or will take Malaysia in the direction of a failed, divided and kleptocratic state.
I urge the Speaker of Parliament, Johari Abdul, the Minister for Higher Education, Khaled Nordin and the Minister of Education, Fadhlina Sidek to take serious note of the serious deterioration of the standards in our political and educational systems and to take remedial measures before it is too late.
