The Pakatan Harapan Sabah Sarawak Manifesto Committee has met on Monday (14-8-2017) to discuss the Pakatan Harapan Sabah and Sarawak Manifesto for the coming 14th General Election. Amongst the issues discussed are the devolution of power to the States and the re-defining of the State-Federal position so as to achieve the “equal partner” principle which formed the basis of the formation of Malaysia.
Representing Sarawak are Chiew Chin Sing, See Chee How, Vernon Kedit and I.
For the past 54 years in Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak have not had its fair share of development under the Barisan Nasional Government. Such mistreatment includes unfair budgetary allocation as well as unfair policies.
Therefore, Pakatan Harapan has placed special focus on the issues of Sabah and Sarawak so as to right the wrong perpetrated by the Barisan Nasional Government in the past.
The said election manifesto shall form the basic policies to be implemented in the event that the Pakatan Harapan forms the Government after the 14th General Election.
In other words, the discussion on the manifesto involves the future of Sarawak. We will not allow BN to continue exploit and trample upon the rights and welfare of Sarawakians. The Pakatan Harapan will present a new and better deal for Sarawak.
