PM Datuk Seri Najib Razak should take the full responsibilities for “Himpunan Rakyat Bersatu” which turned into a rally that full of racial slurs and provocation

The Red Shirts Rally that named as “Himpunan Rakyat Bersatu”, which took place in Kuala Lumpur on 16th September Malaysia Day has finally turned into a rally that full of racial slurs and provocation. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is the one that should take the full responsibilities for this regrettable matter.

As we have seen from the news, there were a lot of racist remarks being played up during the rally, such as “Malaysia Melayu punya!” “Hapuskan SJKC” and “Cina Babi”.

It was very sad to see such kind of irresponsible incident happened on Malaysia Day, which we should celebrate with the spirit of Malaysians by thinking about the history of the formation of Malaysia.

Those people that shouted “Malaysia Melayu punya!” were totally ignored the history of Malaya, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore formed Malaysia on 16th September 1963 (Singapore quit in 1965), this has destroyed the racial peace and social harmony in Malaysia especially between Peninsular and two states-Sabah and Sarawak.

Malaysia is never owned by any single race, it belongs to all Malaysian, which includes Malay, Chinese, Hindu, Kadazan, Iban and Orang Asal. All parties and all people should recognize and respect this true spirit of the formation of Malaysia.

UMNO revealed its stand by supporting the Red Shirts Rally while few BN’s leaders from Sabah and Sarawak objected on it. Finally, BN’s chairman Najib Razak said that their components parties have agreed to disagree on whether they should support it. This means that BN chose the stand of UMNO.

So now Najib has to make clear whether he or BN is supporting the racist remarks – Malaysia Melayu punya. BN’s components parties in Sabah and Sarawak should also reveal their stand whether they still support BN’s chairman and do they still stand together with BN? For MCA, their leadership has to make their stand on the “hapuskan SJKC” remarks.

I would like to urge all Sabahans to keep in faith, believe that most Malaysians are still living in harmony and peace. In fact, according to the survey done by Merdeka Center, the outcome shows that most Malays are not support the racist Red Shirts Rally.

Let us come together in patriotic endeavors to help Malaysia restore its spirit, which embrace all Malaysians, regardless of race, religious, religion and gender.
