Today, I wish to provide a final update regarding the public donations raised during my legal case. Here is my promise to you, one which I am reaffirming today: upon receiving the funds from my opponent’s lawyer, I will ensure that every sen of the public donations, together with all accrued interest, is transferred in full to carefully chosen national welfare organisations, including the National Kidney Foundation. This process will be conducted with full transparency; the handover will be public and documented.
Confronted by a historically high compensation order from the High Court and a strict deadline, I turned to my fellow Malaysians. Your collective strength became the foundation for securing the stay of execution and filing the appeal, a decisive move that made all the difference. It was a stand that transcended a personal legal battle and became a testament to our shared values.
Now, with this legal mission accomplished, I want to be perfectly clear: the RM125,000 in damages and costs will be paid entirely from my own funds. Not a single sen from your generous contributions will be used for this purpose.
In the spirit of transparency, I am releasing herewith the audited report dated 30/5/2023, which details the total amount received in my lawyer’s clients’ account at Guok Partnership during the public donation drive launched in March 2023.
