Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, Happy New Year 2024 and welcome to the press conference today.
I am proud to announce and launch the Penang State Recycling Competiton – “I am EcoChamps!” an initiative under Penang Green Council & work together with Riiicycle Tech Sdn Bhd as the co-organiser.
This competition is open for Penang Green Citizens who pledges to fulfil 10 green intiatives such as 3R practices, say NO to single-use plastic, save water, save energy, and etc.
Practise recycling and get rewarded! We aim to get more citizens to practice recycling as a part of their daily routine. Reward system under Riiicycle mobile app, this competition also serves as an educational platform to raise awareness and promote the benefits of recycling to our community.
Participants stand a chance to walk away with cash prizes, as well as collect points to redeem vouchers or gift from the merchants.
I hereby urge all Penangites to pledge as Penang Green Citizens in order to participate in this competition. For existing Penang Green Citizens, start the recycling effort now!
At the same time, I would like to emphasise that Penang State government treasure and appreciate green efforts by the stakeholders and communities. Therefore, I am delighted to invite all organisations, NGOs, companies, institutions, and individuals to apply or register for Penang Green Council’s green awards and incentives 2024.
