As the new year begins, I am humbled with my attached Report Card 2025 of P195 Bandar Kuching on my Facebook page for voters and the public to read and review.
This total 54-page report card is full of pictures and captions, especially recording the various plans and projects implemented in my constituency over the year, as well as the welfare and community services.
This year, my focus has remained on investing in education and healthcare, which I believe are the foundations for building a brighter future for our children and ensuring the well-being of every individual in our community. Significant strides were made to upgrade school infrastructure and facilities, especially by replacing old and broken furniture in classrooms and staff rooms. Ensuring that teachers have the best environment to teach and students have the best environment to learn is a commitment I take seriously.
In addition, I have also prioritized the welfare of our constituents, especially the elderly and poor and also by supporting meaningful initiatives, including programs for youth development. I believe that empowering our younger generation is key to nurturing future leaders who will drive progress in our constituency and nation.
In the year 2025, my P195 Bandar Kuching office received a total of RM4.2 million in allocations from the federal government, of which expenditure in education accounted for 60% of the total allocation, or RM2,514,890; followed by Community/NGOs 16%, Health 9%, Youth/Sports 8%, and Welfare 7%.
The report card also records various activities of the service center, including the continually organised “SPM Power Preparation Workshop”, “Jualan Madani”, “STPM & SPM Reward”, “Tertiary Education Assistant Fund for P195 Bandar Kuching”, and also “Love Bandar Kuching Pop-Up Market 2.0”.
It is encouraging to note that during my tenure as Political Secretary to the Minister of Human Resources, I worked closely with the Minister and ministry colleagues to successfully push through the Employees’ Social Security (Amendment) Act 2025, leading to the implementation of the “24-hour Protection Scheme” and further expanding social security coverage for workers in our country.
