The following resolutions were passed unanimously by the DAP Central Executive Committee(CEC) at a meeting yesterday evening on 13.2.2014:
- DAP extends our deepest condolences to the family, PAS and their members of former Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Tok Guru Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, on 12.2.2015. The late Tok Guru was highly regarded by all Malaysians, adored by Muslims and well respected by non-Muslims for his personal integrity, courage and humble lifestyle as well as deep humanity and multi-religious harmony. Tok Guru will be missed for his abiding faith in Islam, unyielding resolve to face up to the might of Barisan Nasional and UMNO; his belief in the future of Pakatan Rakyat and determination to strengthen Pakatan Rakyat to fight BN’s widespread abuse of power and corruption.
- DAP declares its full support for Parliamentary Opposition Leader Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim in facing a 5-year imprisonment sentence, as part of a political conspiracy to end his political career and prevent a peaceful transition to a functioning democracy through constitutional means from BN’s dictatorship. DAP urges Malaysians to turn their sorrow and tears of Anwar’s imprisonment into strength to intensify the struggle towards freedom, justice, truth and democracy. Let the coming Permatang Pauh parliamentary by-election be the first salvo towards the campaign not just for Anwar’s freedom but also the liberty of Malaysia.
- DAP urges leaders and members of all 3 parties in PR to remember the contribution of both leaders towards establishing PR by continuing their efforts to promote and sustain PR based on the principle of consensus on accepted common principles and sacrificing any further action that had failed to secure such consensus of all 3 parties.
- DAP strongly condemns Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee, the lead prosecutor in Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s sodomy trial, and Perkasa President Datuk Ibrahim Ali, for their deplorable and dishonourable attacks on Datuk Seri Anwar and Tok Guru Nik Aziz respectively, when both are no longer able to respond and defend themselves.
