I am pleased to announce that I have allocated RM50,000 from my parliamentary constituency fund this year to support the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS), Sarawak Branch in acquiring a new, fully equipped ambulance.
This grant is more than just financial assistance. It is a gesture of appreciation and recognition for the Red Crescent’s long-standing commitment to our community. Their tireless work, especially by the volunteers and emergency response teams, has saved countless lives and provided timely help to those in need. This new ambulance, once operational, will further enhance their capacity to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
In addition to this year’s grant, I will also be allocating another RM50,000 next year to support MRCS’s broader community and humanitarian initiatives. I believe strongly in supporting organisations that put the people first and serve with compassion, professionalism, and integrity.
An ambulance, in itself, is just a vehicle. But in the hands of dedicated volunteers and frontline personnel, it becomes a beacon of hope, bringing medical aid, relief, and reassurance when it is needed most.
Moving forward, I hope to deepen the partnership between my office and the Red Crescent across various fields, including public health outreach, social welfare, and emergency preparedness. We share a common mission: to build a more caring, united, and resilient society.
I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage members of the public, corporate bodies, and civil society to support the Red Crescent and other humanitarian organisations in any way they can. Whether through donations, volunteering, or advocacy, every bit of support makes a difference.
Together, let us continue to uplift one another and create a safer, stronger, and healthier Sarawak.
