MCA President Wee Ka Siong has reportedly rubbished off the claim that support for BN’s Tanjung Piai Candidate Wee Jeck Seng is support for Najib. Wee Ka Siong pointed out that Najib was merely a former leader who had gone down to help the election campaign.
Wee Ka Siong had surprising reacted on the Pakatan Harapan’s Candidate campaign in a way as though admitting the support to the former Prime Minister, Najib Razak, is something to be ashamed of.
Is Wee Ka Siong finally confessing, expressly or impliedly, that he and his party MCA, had been wrong in supporting someone who is known as a global kleptocrate, OR he was just trying to put up a show of distancing himself and his candidate from Najib Razak who had just been called to defence by the Court to account for his 7 SRC charges, for the sake of not losing support in the Tanjung Piai by election?
It is absurd for Wee Ka Siong in trying to down-play Najib’s campaign in Tanjong Piai as merely “a former leader who had gone down to help”. Despite not being the President for BN and UMNO, Najib is clearly still the de facto leader for Barisan Nasional. He proclaims himself as Boosku and he has proven to be the boss to everyone in Barisan Nasional, including Wee and MCA.
Wee Ka Siong has a role in the larger Barisan’s attempt in returning Najib to the premiership of the nation. When announcing Najib’s appointment as the BN Advisory Board Chairman in July 2019 after the BN Supreme Council meeting, BN’s Secretary General Tengku Adnan has said that it is hoped Barisan will regain the people’s confidence with the appointment. Wee Ka Siong was part of the meeting that have endorsed Najib’s position.
MCA and Wee Ka Siong’s support to Najib are clear. Why is Wee Ka Siong so ashamed of to be associated with Najib, and rubbished off the support for Wee Jeck Seng is the support to Najib?
