Sarawak CM Adenan Satem proven UMNO’s new pawn in the game of oppress, divide, and rule in Sarawak after his admission in having a direct hand in redelineation of seats

Tan Sri Adenan Satem seems to be the latest casualty in becoming a puppet for UMNO in their treacherous game of oppress, divide and rule in Sarawak when he said it was in his effort to increase 2 seats in Sarawak through SPR.

By claiming that the opposition is reluctant to see sub-ethnic group Bidayuh grow stronger, just shows that Tan Sri Adenan Satem will do his impossible to make sure that the people of Sarawak stay oppressed and divided under the iron-fisted rule of a one ethnic party, UMNO.

The redelineation exercise by SPR saw an increase in 2 Bidayuh-majority seats in Sarawak after his efforts paid off to carve out 2 seats to secure his and his BN masters position as rulers of the state.

Are other Chief Ministers or Menteri Besar’s as privileged as Tan Sri Adenan Satem to define and dictate the need for additional seats in redelineation exercises in other states?

The redelineation exercise, orchestrated by SPR to create more seats as fixed deposits for BN, also clearly shows that the Election Commission is far from being independent, without fear or favour and is subservient to BN and its leaders.

It is also morally irresponsible of the Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem to blatantly accuse DAP for opposing the so called “1 million or 1 billion” for the rural voters. DAP opposes misappropriation of public funds, abuse of power and race based politics. Why wasn’t anything substantial done with the “1 million or 1 billion” as claimed by the Chief Minister. BN Sarawak has proven that it has failed miserably at managing its finances properly to return the wealth of the state to its people as seen in Pakatan Harapan led Penang and Selangor.

It is a real shame that the Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem has proven that he is UMNO’s new pawn in the game of oppress, divide, and rule in Sarawak after his admission in having a direct hand in redelineation of seats to cement BN support in the state.

UMNO’s dirty divide and rule game which polarises ethnicities in West Malaysia has proven destructive for nation building and Malaysians from West Malaysia are sick and tired of “race politics” and want to do away with race based parties under BN once and for all. Now, Tan Sri Adenan Satem is bringing in the venom of race based politics into Sarawak which will destroy the stability of this state according to what UMNO and BN want. It is evident that divide and rule by UMNO is their lifeline for survival in this 2016 Sarawak state elections.

Tan Sri Adenan Satem’s comment that he was successful in arm twisting the Election Commission to create 2 new Bidayuh seats is the classic example of Prime Minister’s deal-breaker claim at the 2010 Sibu by election when he chanted “I Help You, You Help Me”.

I urge Sarawakians, from all tribes and all walks of life, urban and rural, men and women to see for yourself the black hands of UMNO pulling the political and ethnic strings in Sarawak through Tan Sri Adenan Satem in manipulating the Election Commission to redraw electoral boundaries to ensure BN remains afloat.
