Selangor Police should show results on the existing known Gambling Outlets

The Selangor Police should show results on the existing known gambling outlets in the state. The police already know the presence of a number of such outlets, especially in the Bukit Gasing Constituency. I have written to the police 3 times since January this year to highlight the outlets known to us[1].

In response to my most recent press conference last Thursday, where I highlighted once again that the 9 gambling outlets that I have alerted the police are still open, Selangor’s top cop Comm Datuk Mazlan Mansor has pledged to not compromise. We had even entered one of these premises to demonstrate them being open and in business.

I would like to request Comm Datuk Mazlan Mansor to ensure that all these highlighted premises are shut immediately. The police has now known about them for months.

I would like to see a permanent shut of these outlets with the police arresting the operators and ensuring that they are charged in court. Previous actions involve raiding these premises and seizing all the gambling terminals. But this is not enough a deterrent, as they get new terminals and return to business often within a day of the raid.

For as long as these outlets are only raided and the operators are not arrested and thrown in jail, these outlets will continue to remain open. Only the police can arrest. I call upon Comm Datuk Mazlan Mansor to show his seriousness and have this 9 outlets and the many more outside Bukit Gasing constituency shut for good.
