The Penang Green Market by PGC is a monthly market dedicated to green practices and initiatives. It is officially launched in November 2023, and this is the third market. As a true embodiment of Penang’s commitment to sustainability, this is an effort which aligns seamlessly with the Penang2030 vision launched by our Chief Minister in 2018, aiming to shape Penang into a “Family-Focused, Green, and Smart State” that can inspire the entire nation.
At the core of Penang Green Market by PGC lies an emphasis on environmental education and waste reduction as we journey toward becoming a greener state in the near future. In today’s kids colouring contest, with the theme of “Bring Your Own Container”, we hope to foster a new habit and cultivate zero-waste lifestyle among our vendors and the broader Penang community by encouraging visitors to switch to reuseable and say NO to single-use plastics.

The Penang Green Market plays a pivotal role in reminding and inspiring citizens to curb overconsumption.
