Suppoprting the Girls’ Brigade Malaysia Kuching Group Council

As part of my commitment to youth development and leadership empowerment, I have allocated a total of RM43,000 over the years to support the Girls’ Brigade Malaysia Kuching Group Council in carrying out meaningful activities and leadership development programmes.

Initiatives such as the Young Leaders’Spiritual Leadership Training (YLGBSL) Camp are vital in nurturing the values of discipline, service, and faith among young women, and I will continue to work closely with The Girls’ Brigade to ensure more young girls are given the opportunity to grow into compassionate and capable leaders.

Last Sunday, I was honoured to be invited to the parade of the YLGBSL Camp. I was deeply moved by the spirit, strength, and potential shown by each participant. These young women are learning to lead not just with confidence, but with heart and purpose, and that is the kind of leadership we need for our future.

During my visit, I encouraged the girls to recognise their worth and to use their talents not just for themselves, but to serve others and uplift their communities, as leadership is not about having a title, but about having the courage to make a difference in the lives of others.

The Girls’ Brigade has long been a positive force in shaping young lives through faith-based service and character-building programmes. As the Member of Parliament for Bandar Kuching, I remain dedicated to supporting initiatives like these that build a stronger, more inclusive future, led by empowered youths who are ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow.
