The election propaganda by Najib and MCA alleging the Chinese community needs to vote BN in order to have more MCA ministers in the cabinet is a long shot. In fact, this is an insult to the Chinese community in Malaysia.
Contrary to Najib’s and MCA’s perception, Malaysian history has proven that the Chinese community is hardy. They will continue to survive even without having any cabinet ministers from MCA.
Looking back to post-GE13, MCA was not given any cabinet post during the reshuffling after May 5, 2013. MCA president Liow Tiong Lai was only appointed by Najib as the transport minister on June 25, 2014. For one year, one month and 20 days, the Malaysian Chinese community did not even grumble about not having any representation in the cabinet, or that they were not getting assistance from the MCA ministers.
Evidently, MCA is irrelevant to the Chinese and it is at best a political parasite in BN with vested interests.
Ask any Malaysian and the answer is, “Why do I even bother how many ministers we have to represent our interests?” In fact, most Malaysians do not even know or care who the Transport Minister is, but that they can meet their daily needs.
If anything, they are more worried about how many crooks are appointed again as cabinet ministers after this general election. The rakyat has seen enough of the scandals affecting the nation involving cabinet ministers.
Let me tell Najib what the rakyat demand for this GE: they want a clean and transparent cabinet which has integrity. I dare Liow Tiong Lai to make it compulsory for all MCA ministers to publicly disclose all the assets that they have acquired ‘before and after’ their ministerial posts. Only then, maybe MCA would win more seats in this coming general election.
