The sexist and misogynistic remark made by UMNO Youth Chief towards YB Theresa Kok is downright rude and unbecoming of a youth leader in our nation. Such acts should be reprimanded and condemned as it sets a bad example to others especially to the youth of our nation how a national leader should behave.

YB Teresa Kok has been an elected representative since 1999, she is a 6-term lawmaker, which is about 25 years since 1999.

What YB Theresa did was to raise a legitimate concern by the people she represented and even if one disagress with the point she made, one can always counter it with facts and arguments and not name calling.

This important matter will be discussed comprehensively by our leaders in cabinet, and should not be made a polemic and be politisized.

We can have different perspectives and views on policies – debate and discuss them in a matured manner. Not calling names, demeaning and being disrespectful to one another.

This is the mature and constructive politics that we should examplify to our society especially our youth. As a national leader, the priority should be to build bridge and explain the matter, and not instigate division.
