It is idiotic for Chew Mei Fen to blame the death of 6 people due to drug abuse in the recent Future Music Festival Asia (FMFA) in Kuala Lumpur to the Selangor government’s failure to curb social ills in the Pakatan Rakyat state.
First of all, FMFA was not organized in Selangor, but in Kuala Lumpur, and Bukit Jalil Stadium is under the management of the Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia, a federal statutory body with Ministerial representatives from Ministry of Sports. Furthermore, Selangor Government was never the organizer of the event, so how did the recent deaths due to drug abuse at the FMFA reflect the failure of the Pakatan state government in managing social problems in their state, as stated by Chew Mei Fen in her statement?
After scrutinizing the tragedy through microscope, I finally find one tiny connection between the disaster and Selangor. One of them who died from suspected drug overdoses was from Selangor. However, the other 5 deceased were from Perlis (2), Negeri Sembilan (1) and Kuala Lumpur (2), where BN are the ruling party. Chew Mei Fen needs to explain how these lives could have been saved should Pakatan had been more effective in implementing our policies?
If anyone should be held responsible for this tragedy, it will be none other than PDRM. Shouldn’t Chew Mei Fen ask our PDRM, why were drugs so easily available in Malaysia?
I urge Chew Mei Fen to do more homework before giving comments as her statement merely reflects her ignorance.
