I refer to a report published recently titled “Will DAP give up ‘rocket’ for new Pakatan logo? MCA deputy asks – http://m.themalaymailonline.com/malaysia/article/will-dap-give-up-rocket-for-new-pakatan-logo-mca-deputy-asks“. I would like to humbly thank MCA Deputy President Wee Ka Siong for his concern but whether DAP decides to use its own logo or another representing Pakatan Harapan is clearly none of his business. Every party or a coalition has their own strategies and suggestions. Pakatan Harapan parties are all equal partners where decisions made are collectively and mutually after thorough deliberations have taken place
MCA on the other hand should feel embarrassed that UMNO is dominant in BN and has no concerns about what MCA has to say over policy implementations. Best example is PAS’ motion on Act 355 amendments which is now a government (which MCA is part of) bill to be tabled in this current Parliamentary sitting. This shows MCA is oblivious and lack principles. DAP on the other hand has always been consistent with our stand against Act 355 amendments which goes against the Federal Constitution.
MCA should understand there is a difference between being subservient and having consensual agreement on government policies which will affect ALL Malaysians regardless of race or religion. What is MCA doing about the slashing of budget by the government on Chinese schools? There is no single sound made on that matter by MCA that claims to be representing the Chinese community in the government and so called ‘champions’ for Chinese education.
DAP again has always maintained it’s consistency on vernacular education and has always voiced out for ALL communities regardless of race or religion. MCA has its own party logo but has been using the Barisan Nasional logo for a long time. If MCA think they’re relevant to the Chinese community they should use their logo in Chinese majority seats in the coming election to prove their relevance.
MCA should not nitpick on matters concerning logos and should focus on pushing the government which they’re part of on relevant policy implementation rather than whining about logos or how theocratic the country has become as it is all UMNO’s doing of which MCA has failed to voice out via their platform. It is known that MCA is becoming more and more irrelevant among the Chinese community due to their subservient towards UMNO. Therefore regardless whether DAP contests with our own logo or another logo will never deter DAP’s consistency of fighting for a better Malaysia for all Malaysians.
