Why no action has been taken against the MACC trio?

In a written reply to me dated November 12, YB Senator Datuk Paul Low Seng Kuan, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Minister, revealed that the 3 MACC officers who interrogated Teoh Beng Hock before he was found dead, 2 remained the same rank while 1 has been promoted from Grade 44 to Grade 48.

Paul Low in his reply reiterated that if these officers “didapati melakukan kesalahan”, actions will be taken.

Court of Appeal already on September 5 found that the death of Teoh Beng Hock was caused by “an unlawful act or acts of person unknown, inclusive of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officers involved in the arrest and investigation of the deceased”.

So the question is, more than 2 months after the judgment was delivered, why no action has been taken against the MACC trio?

Both police and MACC must react to the judgment of Court of Appeal. The decision is unanimous. The unwillingness to take action against the trio is either a silent protest against the finding of the 3 learned Court of Appeal judges, or a cover up. Whichever the case, it will for sure render our judiciary system a mockery. Have we become a nation where there are wrongful acts but no wrongdoers?
