MCA Youth legal bureau chief Ng Kian Nam has made some very bold comments on the the newly-passed National Security Council (NSC) Bill 2015.
In his statement, he has described the Bill as akin to creating a dictatorship.
He also expressed concern that the NSC bill could be abused by those in power, especially in such politically troubling times.
“Given the involvement of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak in 1MDB and RM2.6 billion scandal, and that the investigations have not been concluded, it is worrying that the bill could be abused to protect personal political agenda instead of national interest,” he said.
Ng must be commended for his bold and correct stand on the most dangerous and draconian Bill.
However, Ng has not explained why MCA Ministers have supported the Bill in the Dewan Rakyat and what will the MCA Youth will do to oppose the Bill.
As the MCA Youth chief Senator Chong Sin Woon has not disassociated from the statement, it can be concluded that Ng’s stand is also the official stand of the MCA Youth.
So the question now Malaysians are asking is, will Chong take the courageous stand to vote against the Bill in the Senate?
This is a simple and straightforward question and Chong should immediately declare how he will vote on the Bill in the Senate.
In fact, not only Chong should vote against the Bill, all MCA senators must have the courage to do what is right, that is to vote against the Bill, unless of course they disagree with Ng’ statement.
If Ng can see that the Bill paves the way for a dictatorship, there is no reason that more experienced and elder MCA senators cannot see what is right and wrong.
