Will PAS and Tuan Ibrahim Man act against UMNO and PAS leaders that calls for policies that will result in extinguishing the fundamental rights of non-Muslims and non-Malays as protected under the Federal Constitution?

PAS and its Deputy President Tuan Ibrahim Man has asked for action to be taken against DAP and me for exposing the racist and extremist religious policies of UMNO and PAS that will result in extinguishing the fundamental rights of non-Muslims and non-Malays as protected under the Federal Constitution. Tuan Ibrahim Man even denied that PAS and UMNO leaders had made such calls where non-Malays or non-Muslims do not deserve to hold Ministerial positions in Cabinet; vernacular schools teaching mother-tongue languages should be closed down; questioning court decisions based on ethnicity; creating hatred by alleging that the Finance Ministry under a non-Muslim had taken over JAKIM and boycotting non-Muslim products and businesses.

Clearly Tuan Ibrahim Man lied and is a dishonest and unethical politician.

Will PAS and Tuan Ibrahim Man act against UMNO and PAS leaders that calls for policies that will result in extinguishing the fundamental rights of non-Muslims and non-Malays as protected under the Federal Constitution? Amongst the UMNO and PAS leaders that made such inflammatory remarks include PAS President Datuk Seri Mohamad Hadi Awang, PAS Central Executive member Nasrudin bin Hassan and the former Selangor PAS Dewan Ulama Deputy President Ahamd Dusuki Abdul Rani.

Even UMNO President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Opposition Leader Ismail Sabri had not retracted remarks that maligns non-Muslim leaders with lies of interfering in Islamic affairs or creates hatred against non-Malays. On one hand, UMNO/PAS claims that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the PH government is the puppet of DAP. On the other hand, to the Chinese community, MCA claims that DAP is the puppet of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

On the issue of government funding of Kolej Tunku Abdul Rahman, MCA uses its control of mainstream media in both the English and Chinese press to spread lies that DAP has failed to fulfil our promise to allocate RM30 million. The PH has government has stated repeatedly that RM30 million allocation shall be given annually to KTAR when MCA lets go of its control of KTAR, not to the government, but to the KTAR student alumni and the Chinese community. The government has no intention to take over nor run KTAR.

So far MCA is the only political party that seeks public funding for its educational institution. No other political party obtains funding for its educational institutions. Education and political parties should be separated if you want to qualify for public funding, to ensure that educational standards are not sacrificed for political expediency.

The Prime Minister has endorsed in writing that KTAR will get at least RM30 million annually from 2019 onwards if MCA gives up its political control of KTAR to the KTAR student alumni and Chinese community. This separation of education from political party control is a fundamental

principle practiced in democratic countries. Otherwise the government will have to fund all educational institutions run by all political parties and will quickly run out of money.

In other words, RM60 million for this year and next year is available, and as long as PH remains in power every year at least RM30 million, waiting for KTAR to collect if MCA can respect this fundamental principle and give up their control of KTAR. We will not know what will happen in the future. Kojadi, the co-operative owned by MCA, is a very good example.

In 2012, Yayasan 1MDB gave RM15 million to Kojadi. Following the change of government in 2018 which exposed all the corruption and financial misappropriation connected to the 1MDB financial scandal, the then Chairman of Kojadi Datuk Ng Peng Hay, wanted to return back the money. However MCA intervened and prevented Datuk Ng from returning RM15 million to 1MDB. Datuk Ng was subsequently sacked as Chairman of Kojadi. Datuk Ng was proven correct when the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission(MACC) subsequently froze Kojadi bank account for receiving 1MDB sourced funds.

Let us unite together not only to establish a clean and democratic government instead of a corrupt kleptocracy. Let us defeat the lies of the opposition and their racist and religious extremism but also the dangers of the “deep state” as exposed by PH Secretary-General Datuk Seri Saifudin Abdullah. Following MCA’s open public co-operation with UMNO and PAS in the Tanjung Piai by-election, MCA has not answered why they can accept UMNO and PAS when they have not recanted, retracted and apologised for their pronouncements that effectively extinguish the fundamental rights of non-Malays and non-Muslims under the Federal Constitution.

Worse any victory by MCA in the Tanjung Piai by-election may lead to not only the endorsement of the racist and extremist religous philosophy of both PAS and UMNO but also intensify the undemocratic attempt by the “deep state” to set up a “back-door” government that negates the mandate of the rakyat in the 2018 general election. Let us unite around Bangsa Malaysia and reject racism, religious extremism, lies and falsehoods that seeks to poison and jeopardize national unity and shared prosperity for all.
