Words cannot express the shock and sadness that is felt by all of us from DAPSY Perak, at the loss of a national treasure.
His insistence in upholding principles of social justice and his persistence in ensuring those principles are heard loud and clear, are the fundamental factors that make him the unshakable titan that he is.
Karpal has given us all the leadership he could in his earthly years. That leadership has equipped us with a foundation and machinery that has stood the test of time, crises and defeats, but has also equally brought us to the previously unimaginable heights we are at as a party today.
Now he’s no longer with us, we must let his spirit and his iron resolve continue to guide us, with him looking down on us from the heavens above. Karpal, the man may not be around anymore; but Karpal the icon, the idea, the eternal spirit will only become stronger and stronger. DAPSY PERAK will make sure of that.
Just the way that Karpal would have wanted, DAPSY would like to send out a strong message for those who think that Karpal’s departure is an opportunity to crack our will for the Change that Karpal has fought for all his life, “There is a piece of Karpal in each and every single one of us DAPSY members and that piece will only grow stronger. Jangan Main-main!”
Our most sincere thoughts are with Karpal’s family and friends, who are surely feeling uncountable folds of the pain we are feeling as comrades and fellow soldiers-in-social-justice. We will together mourn our nation’s loss of an irreplaceable legal eagle, political giant, a father, a husband, a friend, a leader and a fighter.
