Recently, my office allocated an additional contribution of RM 100,000 to Sarawak General Hospital to enhance the hospital’s operational efficiency and improve the experience for both patients and healthcare providers.
This allocation is being used to purchase essential items such as chairs, air conditioning units, portable drainage stands, and 20 units of computers.
These resources aim to enhance the department such as the surgical wards, emergency department, bed management unit, and infection control unit to help improve their operational efficiency to serve the people better as these departments needs better facilities to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. This contribution will also help improve staff workflows which will leading to quicker services.
This year, my office has contributed a total of RM 300,000 to Sarawak General Hospital to support its facilities and enhance its services for the benefit of the people, focusing on different areas of the hospital to ensure a broad and meaningful impact.
In June 2024, RM 100,000 was allocated to the Radiotherapy Unit (RTU) under the Radiation and Oncology Services. The funds were used to install heavy-duty curtains and upgrade the unit’s digital facilities. These enhancements were aimed at improving the environment and efficiency of the RTU, ensuring a more comfortable and effective space for patients undergoing vital treatments.
And few months ago, we have also allocated another RM 100,000 through Ahli Lembaga Pengarah Hospital Umum Sarawak (ALPHUS) to assist various departments, including Jabatan Diabetik dan Sajian, Klinik Neurologi, Klinik Respitori, Wad Pediatrik, and Klinik Pesakit Berjangkit (ID Clinic). These funds were used to upgrade facilities across these departments, addressing their specific needs to better accommodate the growing number of patients and improve the delivery of care.
These contributions reflect our commitment to strengthening Sarawak’s healthcare system and ensuring that our public hospitals are equipped to provide high-quality services. We believe that investing in healthcare infrastructure and resources is critical to supporting the dedicated medical professionals and ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.
Moving forward, we will continue to work closely with Sarawak General Hospital and other healthcare institutions to identify areas of need and provide support where it is most impactful. It is our hope that these efforts will contribute to a healthier and more resilient community in Sarawak.
