Bomb attempt on Siti Kassim must be denounced by everyone in the strongest possible terms

The bomb attempt on Siti Kassim must be denounced by everyone in the strongest possible terms, as such attempt on any person’s life has no place in Malaysia’s public life.

Malaysians can have political or other differences, but such differences must be resolved in the context of the nation-building principles of a plural Malaysia written into the Constitution and the Rukun Negara by the nation’s founding fathers, which included the first three Prime Ministers of Malaysia who were also UMNO Presidents – Tunku Abdul Rahman, Razak Hussein and Hussein Onn.

There is no place in Malaysia for the resolution of differences by other than peaceful means as at all times, the rule of law and peaceful means to resolve differences must prevail.
