Call on Muhyiddin, Hadi and Mahathir to explain why in the first 35 years of my political life, the wild and preposterous allegations that I was anti-Malay, anti-Islam, anti-Rulers, cause of May 13, 1969 riot and a communist were not made but they were made in the last 20 years of my political life in the 21st century

The Perikaran Nasional (PN) and Bersatu President Muhyiddin Yassin and the PAS President, Hadi Awang should explain why in the first 35 years of my political life, the wild and preposterous allegations that I was anti-Malay, anti-Islam, anti-Rulers, cause of May 13, 1969 riot and a communist were not made but they were made in the last 20 years of my political life in the 21st century.

If I was anti-Malay, anti-Islam, anti-Rulers, cause of May 13, 1969 riots and a communist, these allegations would have been made in the first 35 years of my political life. Why were they made only in the last 20 years?

Can Muhytiddin Yassin explain why he approached me in a cloak-and-dagger fashion in a Kuala Lumpur Hotel in 2016 to escape Special Branch vigilance to ask for DAP support for him to become Prime Minister if I were anti-Malay, anti-Islam, anti-Rulers, cause of May 13, 1969 riots and a communist?

Can Hadi explain why PAS co-operated with DAP twice, first time under Fadzil Nor’s leadership in the Barisan Alternative in the nineties and the second time under Hadi’s leadership in Pakatan Rakyat since the 12th General Elections until 2015 if the DAP was anti-Malay, , anti-Islam, anti-Rulers, cause of May 13, 1969 riots and a communist?

The 22-month Pakatan Harapan Government was accused of being dominated by the DAP and the Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, was accused of being my puppet and stooge.

Would Mahathir agree that the 22-month Pakatan Harapan Government from May 2018 to February 2020 was dominated by DAP and that during that period, he was my puppet and stooge?

During that 22-month period, I was not even a member of Mahahir’s Cabinet, and I never asked Mahathir to appoint anyone or carry out any particular policy. The DAP leadership was completely in the dark about Mahathir’s plan to announce at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2018 that Malaysia was going to ratify the UN international covenants, including the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) and the Rome Statute. The then Foreign Minister, Saifuddin Abdulah, was the best witness that DAP knew nothing about the announcement.

Will Mahathir now say that he made the announcement at the UN General Assembly in September 2018 on the instruction of the DAP?

The reasons why the wild and preposterous allegations that DAP was anti-Malay, anti-Islam, anti-Rulers, cause of May 13, 1969 riots in Kuala Lumpur and communist were never made in the first 35 years of my political life were two: firstly, these allegations were lies; and secondly, the Malay political parties did not see the DAP as a threat to their Malay political base.

In the last 20 years of my political life, the Malay parties began to see the DAP as a threat to their Malay political base as there had been a sea change in political attitudes and thinking, and more and more Malays subscribe to the DAP ideology that Malaysia is for all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or region, provided they are committed to be Malaysians.

We made a breakthrough in 1990 with Ahmad Nor elected as MP for Bayan Baru in 1990 although right from the 1969 General Election, we have had Malay Assemblymen at the State level.

In the 2013 General Election there were two DAP Malay MPs — Zairil Khir Johari of Bukit Bendera and Mohd Ariff Sabri bin Abdul Aziz of Raub. There was one Malay DAP Malay MP — Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puji for Raub — in the 2018 General Election who became a Deputy Minister and three DAP Malay MPs in the 2022 General Election — Syahredzan bin Johan (Bangi), Young Syefura Othman (Bentong), and Syerleena Abdul Rashid (Bukit Bendera).

In the last 20 years, DAP is seen as a threat competing with Malay political parties for Malay support, and the demonisation of DAP as anti-Malay, anti-Islam, anti-Royalty, cause of May 13, 1969 riots in Kuala Lumpur and communist was a defence mechanism by the Malay parties to prevent the DAP from getting more Malay support.

But this is like King Canute and the tide and August 12 will be a test-case whether there can be political stability and national unity among Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or region, to make Selangor and Malaysia the role model for the world for inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-cultural and inter-civilisation dialogue, understanding, tolerance and harmony and for Malaysia to rise up again to become a great world-class nation.

I await for answer from Muhyiddin and Hadi, as well as from Mahathir.

DAP had never been anti-Islam but we are against all forms of extremist and intolerant Islam as we are against all forms of extremist and intolerant Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Taoism or Sikhism for we want Malaysia to be a role model to the world of inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-cultural and inter-civilisation dialogue, understanding, tolerance and harmony.

The six state polls on August 12 is probably as important as the 15th General Election on November 19, 2022 and there are five reasons why the voters of Kinrara should vote Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional coalition!

Firstly, we want Ng Sze Han to be re-elected as Assemblyman for Kinrara and State Executive Councillor.

Secondly, we want Amirudin Shari to continue to be the Mentri Besar of Selangor for the next five years to further develop Selangor to greater heights.

Thirdly, we want to support the Anwar unity government at the national level.

Whatever happens in the six state polls on August 12, the Anwar unity government at the national level cannot be toppled as Members of Parliament are prohibited from jumping parties.

But a two-thirds victory of PH-BN coalition in Selangor, as well as in Penang and Negri Sembilan, will strengthen the efforts of the Anwar unity government at the national level to implement the Ekonomi Madani programme so that Malaysia can rise up again and become a great world-class nation with the following objectives:

  • Top 30 biggest economies in the world. In terms of nominal gross domestic products, Malaysia currently ranks 35.
  • Top 12 in IMD World Competitive Index. The current rank is 27.
  • Top 25 in the UN Human Development Index. Current rank is 62.
  • Top 25 in the TI Corruption Perception Index. Current rank is 61.

For the last few decades, Malaysia has been in national decline, losing out to Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong and even Vietnam.

We are in danger of losing out to China, Indonesia, and India in the near future and the PN of PAS and Bersatu has no plans for Malaysia to rise up again and become a great world-class nation but a policy which will end up with Malaysia as a divided, failed and corrupt state.

We must vote not only for the next five years, but for the next 20 or 30 years, for the sake of our children and children’s children.

Fifthly, to save Malaysia. We do not want Malaysia to become an international failure but a role model for the world for inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-civilisation dialogue, understanding, tolerance and harmony, and which is democratic, progressive and prosperous.

There is a Chinese saying: 国家兴亡,匹夫有责 (For the rise and fall of the nation, every common man has a responsibility.)

We must be Malaysian patriots.

We must not only vote on August 12, advise our relatives and friends to come back from outstation or foreign countries to vote, but every Malaysian voter in Kinrara, Selangor and the six states in Malaysia must be election workers to ensure the highest voter turnout in the six state polls on August 12, 2023 to end the national decline and save Malaysia!
