Within less than a week to nomination day, one caretaker minister is now partyless, while the other a party president is left in the lurch.
This clearly shows how farsighted caretaker Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s planning is; or was it to take the two by surprise as the BN leadership had intentions to drop them.
I therefore call upon both of them to resign from their various posts and give their full support to Pakatan Harapan, which is leading the charge against the ruling coalition.
In Peninsular Malaysia, I call upon MyPPP president M. Kayveas to resign as the president of MyPPP because it is clear that he has lost control of his party.
To make matters worse, Federal Territories Umno does not give him an ounce of respect by naming his Penang state chairman, Loga Bala Mohan for the Segambut candidacy, going against my colleague, Hannah Yeoh.
Alternatively, as MyPPP president, Kayveas should sack Loga for accepting the FT Barisan Nasional chairman, Tengku Adnan Mansor’s decision, without the party’s prior consent.
As it is, Kayveas is already seen in bad light that he allows Tengku Adnan to decide on his behalf. Kayveas can say that Loga does not have the party’s endorsement to contest under the BN banner without the party’s decision, but unless he can show Tengku Adnan who is boss by pulling out MyPPP’s support towards the BN coalition, Kayveas’ position is already weakened.
From henceforth, Kayveas would not be able to command any respect from his grassroots. Rather than being left in the lurch, Kayveas should join force with Pakatan Harapan to mobilise the Indian voters against the coalition.
At the same time, I also call upon Tengku Adnan to contest in any parliamentary seat in the city of Kuala Lumpur instead of “holing” in Putrajaya, one of the smallest constituencies in the country.
As the BN Federal Territory chairman who claims that BN has done a lot for the city and the ubiquitous BN flags all over Kuala Lumpur put up by him before the nomination day is a reminder to city folks of BN’s achievements for the people; hence he should be man enough to contest in any seat in the Federal Territory.
Tengku Adnan, my advice to you as the BN national secretary general is not to be a coward. Take the lead to contest in the capital city of Malaysia and win the seat to prove that you have indeed done a good job as the FT minister.
