DAP CEC resolutions

The DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) at its meeting on 19.8.2015 unanimously approved the following resolutions: –

  1. Endorses the Bersih rallies beginning on 29.8.2015 to demand that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak resign to take full responsibility for the RM2.6 billion donation scandal deposited into his personal account and should he refuse to resign to seek a vote of confidence in Parliament. Bersih is also seeking clean elections, corrupt-free government, the right to protest, strengthening parliamentary democracy and saving the economy.
  2. Demands that the RM2.6 billion donation scandal must not be whitewashed but fully addressed in the proposed National Committee to plan politically funding regulation by the Prime Minister as a pre-condition for DAP to participate.
  3. Demands Ministers in the PM’s Department Datuk Seri Idris Jala and Paul Low to resign for trying to cover-up the RM42 billion 1MDB financial scandal and the RM2.6 billion donation scandal as well as betraying the principles of transparency and accountability they have pledged to uphold.
  4. Challenges the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to prove his commitment towards integrity in public life and accountability by requiring all public office-holders from himself to Ministers, Chief Ministers and EXCOs to publicly declare their assets as is done by the Penang state government.
  5. Express our deepest condolences to the victims of the horrifying bomb blast in Bangkok causing the loss of 20 lives, of which 7 were Malaysians.
