The DAP condemns the action of various NGO’s who slaughtered two chickens and smeared its blood on a banner featuring photographs of 4 elected representatives in Kuala Lumpur today.
The group went further to offer a reward of RM1200 to anyone who dared to slap Teresa Kok, the MP for Seputeh and provided photographic evidence of their action.
This is clearly a most shameful, irresponsible and provocative threat openly made against elected representatives which cannot and must not be allowed to go unpunished.
We demand that the police take stern action against these persons immediately. They have clearly committed acts criminal in nature and they must be dealt with accordingly.
Both the Home Minister and IGP must get tough and rise to the front to put down groups like these who openly advocate violence.
Malaysia can ill afford to go down in history as a nation in which chaos and violence of this nature flourishes owing to weaknesses on part of its government and police to do the needful to uphold the law, maintain order and keep the peace.
Police reports will be lodged over the incident tomorrow. The DAP will also seek an urgent audience with the Home Minister and the IGP over the matter as soon as possible.
