Five reasons why the people of Sungai Pelek should not only vote but should campaign for the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional coalition in the six state polls on polls

I will give five reasons why the people of Sungai Pelek should not only vote but should campaign for the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (PH-BN) coalition candidate, Lwi Kian Keong, and in the six state polls on August 12, viz:

Firstly, Lwi Kian Keong is a local, had been a village head and local councillor. He understands all the local problems and can represent and seek to resolve the Sungai Pelek constituency problems.

Furthermore, Kian Keong can ensure that Sungai Pelek will fully benefit from the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) announced by the Selangor Mentri Besar-designate Amirudin Shari recently, and that Sepang’s competitiveness can reach the next level with more strategic measures that spur economic growth, especially in the industrial sector, logistics and warehousing services, tourism, education and agriculture.

Secondly, the election of Kian Keong as State Assemblyman for Sungai Pelek will ensure that the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional coalition can continue to govern Selangor for the next five years.

Perikaan Nasiohal (PN) are aiming a 6-0 win in the six state polls. If PN of PAS and Bersatu topple the PH-BN coalition in Selangor, the future of Selangor for the next five years will be a bleak one. The people of Malaysa want Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah (the poorest states in Malaysia after six decades of nationhood) to become like Selangor, Penang and Negri Sembilan (the top richest states in Malaysia) instead of Selangor to go backwards to be like Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.

Thirdly, to strengthen the Anwar unity government at the national level. Whatever happens in the six state polls on August 12, the Anwar unity government at the national level cannot be toppled as Members of Parliament are prohibited from jumping parties.

But a two-thirds victory of PH-BN coalition in Selangor, as well as in Penang and Negri Sembilan, will strengthen the efforts of the Anwar unity government at the national level to implement the Ekonomi Madani programme so that Malaysia can rise again and become a great world-class nation.

If the PH-BN coalition does badly in the six state polls on August 12, the Anwar unity government at the national level is not going to be toppled, but it will affect the scope, speed and timing of the reform efforts in the Ekonomi Madani plan which, among others, seek to ensure that Malaysia achieve the following objectives:

  • Top 30 biggest economies in the world. In terms of nominal gross domestic products, Malaysia currently ranks 35.
  • Top 12 in IMD World Competitive Index. The current rank is 27.
  • Top 25 in the UN Human Development Index. Current rank is 62.
  • Top 25 in the TI Corruption Perception Index. Current rank is 61.

For the last few decades, Malaysia has been in national decline, losing out to Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong and even Vietnam.

We are in danger of losing out to China, Indonesia, and India in the near future.

PN of PAS and Bersatu has no plans for Malaysia to rise again and become a great world-class nation but a policy which will end up with Malaysia as a divided, failed and corrupt state.

Fourthly, we must vote not only for the next five years, but for the next 20 or 30 years, for the sake of our children and children’s children.

In the life of a person, there may be a few times where he or she can rise up again to be a successful person. But in the life of a nation, there is only one opportunity to reverse the national decline of the last few decades to rise again to become a great world-class nation.

Malaysia is in that position now.

We do not want a second Malaysian Diaspora. In the first Malaysian Diaspora, some two million Malaysians emigrate all over the world to make other nations great. One such nation is Singapore which is great because of Malaysians who have emigrated there. We want Malaysians to stay in Malaysia to make Malaysia great.

There is no racial and religious animosities and no race or religion is out to wipe out other races and other religions, but there are political opportunists who want to set race against race, religion against religion

Malaysia can only succeed if all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region, gender or age can unite to achieve their full potential capabilities.

We want our children and children’s children to stay, work and live in Malaysia, because Malaysia has risen again to become a great world-class nation.

Fifthly, to save Malaysia. We do not want Malaysia to become an international failure, but a role model for the world for inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-civilisation dialogue, understanding, tolerance and harmony, and which is progressive and prosperous.

There is a Chinese saying: 国家兴亡,匹夫有责 (For the rise and fall of the nation, every common man has a responsibility.)

We must be Malaysian patriots.

We must not only vote on August 12, advise our relatives and friends to come back from outstation or foreign countries to vote, but every Malaysian in Sungai Pelek, Selangor and Malaysia must be election workers to ensure the highest voter turnout in the six state polls on August 12, 2023 to end the national decline and save Malaysia!
