Lodging police reports against Kedah Menteri Besar for creating public disaffection and trying to cause enmity between peoples of Kedah and Penang by claiming Penang still belongs to Kedah

Penangites should lodge police reports against Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor for creating public disaffection and trying to cause enmity between peoples of Kedah and Penang by claiming Penang still belongs to Kedah. Not just 1.8 million Penangites but both the Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim Deputy Minister in Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Ramkarpal Singh had also refuted Muhammad Sanusi for failing to understand the law to the extent of disrespecting and even denigrating the Federal Constitution.

Anwar added that even the Sultan of Kedah did not dispute Penang’s right to exist as a state when the Sultan of Kedah had consented to the Federal Constitution which recognises Penang as one of the 13 sovereign states in Malaysia. This is not the first time that Muhammad Sanusi is making such an outrageous and false claim against Penang.

Earlier Muhammad Sanusi had publicly stated that he doubted the sovereignty of Penang and the right of Penang to exist as Penang should be under Kedah. Following his provocative comments, the Penang state assembly had passed a unanimous motion, supported by the lone Penang PAS Assemblyperson, condemning Muhammad Sanusi for doubting Penang’s sovereignty. Muhammad Sanusi is clearly intent on leveraging on this false claim to gain extra political mileage in the coming state elections.

Gaining political mileage is an irresponsible and reckless move when such baseless and non-existent claims can create public disaffection amongst the people and appears to be trying to cause public enmity amongst the peoples of Kedah and Penang. Even though all the facts and law have underlined that Muhammad Sanusi is wrong, Muhammad refuses to recant and repent his wrongs.

By provoking and questioning Penang’s sovereignty and right to exist as a state, Muhammad Sanusi is a public danger to the peace and security of the nation. Police reports should be lodged by 1.8 million Penangites to press for action against Muhammad Sanusi to protect Penang and prevent “political interlopers” from invading our state to ensure that we can continue our lives peacefully and enjoy prosperity.

Penang PAS should state their stand on whether they will disassociate themselves with Muhammad Sanusi. Should they fail to do so, then PAS should not contest in the coming state elections if they cannot fully represent the interests of Penangites as well as defend, protect and preserve the Federal Constitution.
