Malacca UMNO has today denied it issued a directive to all six divisions to mobilise 1,000 members each to attend the “Red Shirt Rally” on Sept 16. State liaison committee deputy chairperson Abdul Ghafar Atan has refuted claims it was mobilising members to the “Red Shirt Rally”.
Abdul Ghafar Atan statement is in contradictory with a letter that has gone viral on the internet that its state secretary Ab Rahaman Ab Karim issued a directive to all divisions to mobilise members to participate in the “Red Shirt Rally”.
I urge Ab Rahaman Ab Karim to clarify if he did issue the letter. If he did not issue the letter, Malacca UMNO must immediately lodge a police report on document forgery. Under S.465 of the penal code, whoever commits forgery shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine or with both.
If Malacca UMNO fails to lodge a police report, this would only mean the letter circulated online is genuine and Malacca UMNO is trying to play double-faced politics by directing its members to support the rally but telling the public otherwise.
This prove that UMNO can only tacitly support the “Red Shirt Rally”. UMNO is so afraid to openly support this racist rally as they know the main aim of this rally – to instigate racial sentiments will not bode well with the public.
I call on the police to immediately crackdown and stop the “Red Shirt Rally” as this rally is racist in nature and has the potential to tear the Malaysian society apart, disrupting the peace and harmony of the country.
