Malaysians should not miss or split their votes as the titanic battle in the six state polls on August 12 is between the PH/BN coalition and the PN coalition of PAS and Bersatu

I am 82 years old. I am not contesting as a candidate in the six state polls on August 12.

Recently, I had a fall in my house.

Yet I am campaigning for the six state polls and am as busy as any candidate, travelling to the constituencies in the three states of Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Penang.

This is my second trip to Sungai Pelek because Sungai Pelek is a black area.

Perikatan Nasionl (PN) of PAS and Bersatu believes they can win Sungai Pelek and even win the Selangor state government on August 12.

I do not want PN to win the Selangor state government and I do not want PN to win Sungai Pelek.

I want Lwi Kian Keong to be elected as State Assemblyman for Sungei Pelek to look after the interests of the people of Sungai Pelek, whether Malays, Chinese or Indians, for the next five years.

I want Amirudin Shari to continue as Selangor Mentri Besar for the next five years to develop Selangor.

I want a great vote of support for the Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to endorse his Ekonomi Madani vision for Malaysia to rise up again to become a great world-class nation.

I want the voters in the six states on August 12 to save Malaysia, to correct the national decline of the last two decades, and to rise up again as a great world-class nation.

We must progress in all the states and not regress.

I want Kelantan to be like Selangor, which has a GDP per capita which is about four times that of Kelantan and more developed in all areas, and not Selangor become as poor as Kelantan.

I want to send a message to voters of the six states who will go to the polls on August 12, especially Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Penang.

I ask the voters to do two things: firstly, to come out to vote to ensure a high voter turnout; and secondly, not to split their votes as the titanic battle in the six state polls on August 12 is between the Pakatan Harapan/Barisan Nasional coalition and the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition of PAS and Bersatu.

Every vote that is not cast or split will benefit the PN coalition as it will disadvantage the PH-BN coalition and place the PN coalition in a better position to win not only a constituency but a state government.

I am sure that a vote that is not cast or split will not choose or want the PN to form a state government, but a missed vote or a split vote is a vote to help PN to win a State Government.

A person who does not vote or who split the vote on August 12 may not want PN to form the State Government in any state, but this is the result they might get.

This is why every voter should vote on August 12 to ensure that PN of PAS and Bersatu do not form the state government of Selangor, Penang and Negri Sembilan by default.

I have devoted my life to my political beliefs for 58 years – to see a just, democratic, progressive and prosperous Malaysia which is one of the top countries in the world.

I admire the Muda and Independent candidates for standing for elections in the six state polls on August 12 but in the larger national interests, they should be helping the PH-BN coalition and not help PN to form the six state governments on August 12.
