Media reports that the DAP did not send out a letter dated 20.12.2013 to the ROS demanding that it explain under which provision of law it made its decision to withhold recognition of the re election of its Central Executive Committee on 29.9.2013, are blatant and outright lies.
The DAP did send out the letter and this letter was received and acknowledged by the ROS on 24.12.2013. I have said this in a posting on my blog on 15.1.2014. The same was also repeated by the Malaysian Insider on 14.1.2014.
There have been reports that suggest no such letters were sent. These reports are clearly false, reckless, irresponsible and calculated to tarnish my name and the image of the DAP.
These attacks are motivated by a desire on part of certain quarters to distract us from the real issue, which is the failure on part of the ROS to justify its decision to withhold recognition of the said re election.
Neither I nor the DAP will be dragged into a public spat with, nor cowed by any threats by anyone, over this matter.
We remain firm. We are focused on the issue and we have followed through with the suit against the ROS.
In the meanwhile, we reserve all rights against those who have caused to be published against us defamatory statements over this matter, to date.
