Muhyiddin’s trust on The Edge further doubts the suspension of The Edge by the Home Ministry

The Deputy Prime Minister has reportedly mentioned that in order for him to understand the issues concerning 1MDB he has to read suspended news daily ‘The Edge’. This revelation by the Deputy Prime Minister shows that the suspension of ‘The Edge’ by the Home Ministry doesn’t have the unanimous support by the cabinet. Does this mean that the Home Minister acted on his own without consulting the seniors in the cabinet?

This obvious doubt by the Number 2 person in the country over the suspension of ‘The Edge’ may trigger a leadership crisis in the nation. Will the Prime Minister reprimand his deputy over his speech or will he just show another ‘tidak apa’ attitude towards this whole matter? Will Muhyiddin Yassin, being the second most powerful man in the cabinet intervene to reverse the suspension of ‘The Edge’?

This shows that Muhyiddin Yassin, together with right minded Malaysians denounce the suspension of ‘The Edge’. The Prime Minister should lift suspension and take it to the courts of law or rebut the reports written by ‘The Edge’ rather than suspending them.

It is also recommended that the Prime Minister, with whatever honor he has left to take a leave of absence while the entire investigation is going on and allow his deputy to take over for the time being. This was recommended by several MPs previously and recent developments proves them right. The Deputy PM has already reiterated that he doesn’t plan to topple the Prime Minister so it is best that trusts his deputy to run the administration of the country.
