As Malaysia celebrates the establishment of the Malaysian Federation 52 years ago, pictures depicting an officer in the Hulu Selangor Parliamentary Office service centre under P. Kamalanathan saw heaps of red “Perhimpunan Maruah Melayu” t-shirts ready to be given away to those who will be attending the rally on September 16 in Kuala Lumpur.
The caption below the picture was a message of gratitude to P. Kamalanathan as the MP for Hulu Selangor for sponsoring 220 pieces of the red t-shirts for the upcoming rally that is aggressive and sinister in nature.
Despite our colossal differences, giving Kamalanathan the benefit of the doubt, I tweeted for clarification if the picture was true or not, and much to my surprise, he replied claiming he was aware of the picture and the message but also clarified that his service centre officers had allocated resources and the office space without knowledge of the event but based on goodwill.
Whilst the many Malaysians and I appreciate the ‘clarification’ given by P. Kamalanathan that he appeared to have no knowledge of the NGO or the rally he supports, he must think that Malaysians are gullible enough to believe that. Any conscious person would be able to see the astounding level of hypocrisy and trickery when a Deputy Minister for Education blatantly contradicted himself when claiming no knowledge of the sponsorship of the t-shirts let alone use his service centre as a distribution centre.
It shows that as a person holding office, as a Member of Parliament for Hulu Selangor, he has no credibility, accountability or transparency and it is utterly humiliating that a two term MP appears to be clueless when allowing public funds and tax payers money to be used for his own political mileage to support and sponsor a rally that is racist, intimidating and threatening in nature for the 52nd Malaysia Day celebrations. If P. Kamalanathan denies that it is not public funds that is used to sponsor the t-shirts, then can Malaysians assume that the t-shirts have been sponsored by MIC or UMNO?
How disgraceful for a person in a Ministerial position to not only support and sponsor t-shirts that advocates hatred, disharmony, disunity but also displays elements criminal intimidation with their threats and warnings of bloodshed.
And if the sponsorship is from MIC or UMNO, what does that say about the doctrines and principles of these parties that defend the hollow sunken 1Malaysia concept? That while they chest-thump and render undying support for their Bugis warrior PM Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, they silently advocate fear mongering for ethnic power struggle.
Where does national-reconciliation and nation-building sit with BN leaders, particularly the UMNO Prime Minister Najib Razak and MIC Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan when they have shown their backing for a group that issuing warnings to “occupiers”?
P. Kamalanathan has shown his true colours as a dishonest, unreliable leader and an advocate of racism and prejudice by silently supporting the Perhimpunan Maruah Melayu, a counter rally full of hate speech, to the “teach the Chinese a lesson”, to “warn invaders” and to “defend Malay dignity” while admitting in his thick-skinned rhetoric ramble that his office is an ‘open’ platform for NGOs to use.
Would we finally see one day where the office of the MP for Hulu Selangor is used by ‘NGOs’ like Tiga Line and gangs like 04 and 08 to have their meetings only because Kamalanathan has no clue who or what he supports and sponsors?
Kamalanathan has not only shown his true colours as an advocate of hate speech, racism and bigotry in supporting the noxious Perhimpunan Maruah Melayu and sponsoring their t-shirts but has also brought disrepute to his position as Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister of Education in Malaysia.
Kamalanathan must apologize to all Malaysians for supporting a rally calling for bloodshed and explain to all tax-payers where did the funding for the Perhimpunan Maruah Melayu come from.
