PAS reinforces exclusive, racist and extremist approach of treating non-Muslims as opponents that PAS is willing to negotiate with, instead of inclusively embracing them as fellow Malaysians

PAS spiritual leader Hashim Jasin has reinforced the party’s exclusive, racist and extremist approach of treating non-Muslim as opponents that PAS is willing to negotiate with instead of inclusively embracing them as fellow Malaysians. Hashim said in Malaysiakini on 27 September that PAS is willing to negotiate with non-Muslims who must first agree with prioritizing the PAS ummah(Muslim community) unity agenda.

Non-Muslims should not be downgraded but embraced instead in an inclusive nature by any responsible political party that seeks to unite the nation. PAS must be reminded that non-Muslims are Malaysian citizens who are not political opponents of PAS. However, by stating its willingness to negotiate with non-Muslims, PAS appears to be making them out as political enemies.

Such statements are consistent with the open hostility and contempt towards the rights and dignity of non-Muslims expressed by PAS President, Abdul Hadi Awang. Hadi had blamed non-Muslims and non-bumis for being the root of all corruption, that non-Muslims can not hold senior Cabinet posts, blamed non-Muslims and non-Malays for threatening the political power of the Malays when all top government positions are held by Malays or Muslims, lied that PH was dominated by non-Muslims that are anti-Islam and anti-Malay and lied again that PH won the 2018 general elections through treachery, labelled those encouraging the use of English as having a colonial mindset, and interfering in non-Muslim cultural events by wanting to ban entertainment concerts and Oktoberfest as well Bon Odori even though there are no religious ceremonies held.

Shameless For Abdul Hadi To Seek Non-Muslim Support For PAS

And yet Hadi can be so shameless as to state that there is no reason for PAS to fail to garner non-Muslim support when DAP can elect Indian MPs in Chinese-majority seats. Non-Muslims reject PAS not just for their racism and extremism but also for their failures in economic management and bad governance.

Mohamad Agus Yusoff from University Kebangsaan Malaysia has labelled the 3 PAS Ministers as incompetent, and PAS performing poorly in governing its states. Johor Umno deputy chief Nur Jazlan Mohamed had described them as low-quality ministers (menteri cap ayam) who were dragging the government down with their incompetence. PAS has tried to cover up their incompetence by exploiting racist and extremist sentiments. Relying on racism is incompetence. Just as corruption is colour-blind, so is competence.

Unfortunately, non-Muslim political parties in government such as MCA, MIC, GPS from Sarawak and GRS from Sabah behave like political “eunuchs” by not daring to oppose but continue to support PAS in government and work together with the 3 PAS Ministers in Cabinet. By legitimizing and whitewashing the racism and extremism of PAS, these political ‘eunuchs’ are culprits for abetting PAS in posing a clear and present danger to the well-being, security, and bright future of Malaysians.
