Perak Menteri Besar Saarani Mohamad is right to dismiss Perak State Opposition Leader and Perak PAS commissioner Razman Zakaria’s claim that Razman recently met a few assemblymen from the unity government to overthrow the current Perak state government. Razman has a rich history of being proven to be a serial inveterate liar who loves to make up stories.
In the past, Razman has not only unconditionally withdrawn but also apologised to the Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for the malicious lies that Anwar supported the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and being a communist. Razman was ordered by the Ipoh Sessions Court to pay RM200,000 in defamation damages to former Perak Menteri Besar Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin in 2017. Last year Razman was ordered by the Penang High Court to pay RM250,000 in damages and issue a public apology over an extremist defamatory posting against me.
In this case Razman is motivated to destabilise the current Perak state government for political self-interest, and is unable to identify the assemblymen from the unity government that he had met. Further the anti-hopping law in force in Perak would nullify any basis for toppling the government.
Saarani and the Perak state government will not be distracted by Razman from their work in improving the lives of the rakyat and bringing in development. There is no point in wasting time on those who weave stories from lies and empty talk.
