First of all, I would like to wish all Malaysians a happy winter solstice and may all of you enjoy this meaningful day with your family and loved ones.
Winter Solstice is an important cultural festive for the Chinese as it signifies unity. This is a particularly important element that Malaysia needs right now, especially we have just begun the journey of re-building the nation.
It is the best time for Malaysians to stand united and work hand-in-hand to spur the economy into greater state and shape. Only when the economy improves, Malaysia can progress and be developed further.
Amidst issues faced by the Pakatan Harapan government, I sincerely hope the same spirit of winter solstice can be applied where the component parties can discuss and resolves difficult issues as a family and as a team. All parties’ voices count and all parties’ opinions should be respected when it comes to issues such as abolishing death penalty and accepting people’s reps from UMNO.
Once again I would like to emphasize that DAP is a party that will never give up fighting for all Malaysians regardless of their race, religion and creed. When injustice happens on any Malaysian, DAP will be the first party to voice out and act.
Hence, I would like to emulate YB Lim Kit Siang’s earlier statement that DAP can never be MCA 2.0 as it fights for all Malaysians and that the party is prepared to quit Pakatan Harapan coalition should the New Malaysia objective be abandoned.
