Hadi is attacking DAP as anti-Malay and anti-Islam because he is possessed by his animus against Anwar becoming Prime Minister of Malaysia

I gave the PAS President Hadi Awang the benefit of the doubt and gave him 48 hours to substantiate his latest diatribe a few days ago – that the Malays were being toyed with and conned due to their own neglect and ignorance and were victims of the country’s politics, being plagued by corruption, moral decay and divisions among themselves and that Malays who worked with non-Muslims and non-Malays, who he claimed were the “biggest plunderer” who gave and received bribes, conned the Malays and Muslims for over half a century.

I did not expect him to substantiate his diatribe a few days ago, for there was no way he could substantiate these wild and preposterous allegations that the non-Malays and non-Muslims were plunderers, who gave and received bribes and had conned the Malays and Muslims.

But I never expected him to launch a new diatribe – that the DAP had targeted Malays who were “ignorant about their faith” to amass political power and that DAP “lured” certain Malay figures to become its “puppets”.

Already Hadi owed me six allegations which he had not been able to substantiate.

Hadi will probably make history in the world as the Islamic leader who made the most number of unsubstantiated allegations – although this was not the “fame” which Malaysia wanted.

Hadi’s six unsubstantiated and preposterous allegations were:

  • After the 15th General Election, he accused the DAP of promoting Islamophobia. It is now some six months since he made the preposterous allegation, and despite my many challenges, he had not been able to furnish an iota of evidence to substantiate his wild allegation.
  • During the Teluk Intan by-election in May 2014, Hadi reminded PAS members that DAP had helped PAS when the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition tried to oust the party from ruling Kelantan during the 1977 Kelantan Emergency. He said although there were so many things different between DAP and PAS, like what is halal (permissible) and haram (forbidden), alcohol, pork, and hudud, the two parties agree with each other in eradicating poverty, cruelty, and corruption, among others. Was DAP promoting Islamophobia in coming to PAS’ help in 1977?
  • Hadi should know by now that the DAP was not the mastermind or had anything to do with the 2018 episode when the Pakatan Harapan government under the Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir Mohamad had tried to ratify the International Covenant of the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (ICERD). All Hadi need to do is to ask the then Foreign Minister, Saifuddin Abdullah who is now with him in Perikatan Nasional (PN). Is Hadi going to apologise for his wild and ferocious attacks on the DAP as the “mastermind” of the attempted ratification?
  • Since 2018, Hadi has not been able to cite a single a case of the 55 out of 57 Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) Muslim countries where Islam was undermined or a single case of the 36 out of 38 countries with monarchical system where the monarchical system was affected as a result of the ratification of ICERD.
  • His wild and preposterous allegations that that non-Muslims and non-Malays were “plunderers” who gave and received bribes and had conned the Malays and Muslims of their rights for over a half a century.
  • His latest wild and preposterous allegations that the DAP had targeted Malays who were “ignorant about their faith” to amass political power and that DAP “lured” certain Malay figures to become its “puppets”.

What is the reason for Hadi to have such venom and hatred for the DAP?

Actually, it has nothing to do with the DAP – Hadi is possessed by his animus against Anwar Ibrahim becoming Prime Minister of Malaysia

In the Kajang Move in 2014 where Anwar and Wan Azizah Wan Ismail were thwarted in their plan to become the Mentri Besar of Selangor, Hadi had seen me to solicit DAP support for PAS’ opposition to Anwar as the Prime Minister-designate in the General Election.

Hadi suggested Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah should replace Anwar as Pakatan Rakyat’s Prime Minister-designate.

I disagreed and reminded Hadi of the Pakatan Rakyat’s decision to name Anwar as the Prime Minister-designate.

Had I at that time agreed to Hadi’s proposal to replace Anwar with Razaleigh, or better still, suggested that Hadi should be the PM-designate instead, I would today be hailed by Hadi as a great champion of and fighter for Islam instead of being anti-Malay and anti-Islam!

Yes, I am opposed to Hadi as the Prime Minister of Malaysia and events have proved me right.

Hadi is now the greatest threat to inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-cultural and inter-civilisation dialogue, understanding, tolerance and harmony in the history of Malaysia, for he has not only criminally defamed the non-Malays and non-Muslims, he has also criminally defamed the Malays and Muslims.

Malaysians, whether Malays or non-Malays, Muslims or non-Muslims want political stability while preserving the right of Parliament to a vote of no confidence in the Prime Minister, but Hadi wants political turmoil and upheaval.

Malaysians, whether Malays or non-Malays, Muslims or Non-Muslims, want national unity of the various races, religions and cultures in Malaysia but Hadi wants polarisation and disagreement.

Fortunately, polarisation in Malaysia has not reached the extreme level as in other countries.

According the Edelman Trust Barometer Global Report 2023, Malaysia is not in the worst category of six countries which are “severely polarised”, or is it among the second category of nine countries which are “in danger of severe polarisation” or third category of six countries which are “extremely divided”.

Malaysia belongs to the fourth and best category of seven countries which are “less polarised” with few deep divisions, together with Singapore, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, China and India.

We must not allow irresponsible leaders like Hadi to plunge Malaysia into the other three categories where polarisation becomes severe with entrenched deep divisions and this is why the police reports by two Members of Parliament, Lim Lip Eng and Syerleena Abdul Rashid against Hadi for his reckless statements calculated to disturb racial peace and religious tolerance in Malaysia must be taken seriously by the police authorities.

Hadi has signed Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad’s Malay Proclamation. Does this mean that Mahathir agree with Hadi that non-Muslims and non-Malays were “plunderers” who give and received bribes, and had conned the Malays and Muslims of their rights for over a half a century and that DAP had targeted Malays who were “ignorant about their faith” to amass political power and that DAP “lured” certain Malay figures to become its “puppets”?

Hadi should not allow his animus to Anwar Ibrahim to take him down the path of irresponsible politicking.

Is he prepared to move a motion in the forthcoming Parliament in a week’s time for Malaysia be a role model for the world for inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-cultural and inter-civilisation dialogue, understanding, tolerance and harmony?
