History was made this morning in Teluk Bahang when I spoke to the local MCA and UMNO leaders to unite to achieve a successful plural Malaysia intended by the first three Prime Ministers, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Tun Razak and Tun Hussein Onn who were also UMNO Presidents and other founding fathers of Malaysia – Tun Tan Cheng Lock and Tun V.T. Sambanthan.

DAP had been fighting the Barisan Nasional of MCA and UMNO for decades, but it was over our political differences and not because the DAP leaders have any personal animosities or hatred of the Barisan Nasional leaders.

This was why I got along well with Tunku, Tun Razak and Tun Hussein Onn, as well as with other UMNO and MCA leaders.

In fact, in the last decade of his life, Tunku and I were in the same political struggle to ensure that there was democracy and fair play in Malaysia politics.

One political difference between the DAP and Barisan Nasional as over corruption.

In 1995, Transparency International (TI) came out with its annual Corruption Perception Index (CPI) and Malaysia was ranked No. 23 out of 41 countries.

It took three UMNO Prime Ministers and 22 years from 1995 to drop from the inaugural Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perception Index (CPI) 1995 ranking of 23 out of 41 countries in 1995 to 62 out of 180 countries in 2017, but it took Muhyiddin 17 months as “backdoor” Prime Minister to drop from 51st ranking in 2019 to 62nd ranking in 2021 after he toppled the Pakatan Harapan government in the infamous Sheraton Move political conspiracy.

Does Muhyiddin support Anwar’s plan to make Malaysia the top 25 countries ranked by the TI CPI?

It is fortunate that in the 15th General Election of 19th November 2022 did not end up with Muhyiddin Yassin as the 10th Prime Minister or Malaysia will reach the lowest TI CPI ranking in history. Now, we hear the son-in-law of Muhyiddin is missing from the country although the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has been looking for him for months. This is another record-breaking history for a former Prime Minister of Malaysia.

It is also fortunate that the 15th General Election did not end up with Hadi Awang as the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Hadi Awang is probably the only Muslim leader in the world who has told the most lies, falsehoods. fake news and hate speech in the era of social media.

I am still patiently waiting for him to produce an iota of evidence to substantiate his wild and preposterous allegations that I am anti-Malay, anti-Islam, anti-Royalty, cause of May 13, 1969 riots in Kuala Lumpur and a communist.

Hadi was yet to explain whether the Saudi Arabian government has lifted its ban on him from entry into the country, although he was Special Envoy to the Middle East to two Prime Ministers from 2020 to 2022.

Malaysia needs to be an example to the world in good governance and the fight against corruption.

Anwar needs support from all patriotic Malaysians to work for a progressive, open-minded and prosperous Malaysia and this is why on Saturday the voters in the six states should vote solidly for the PH/BN coalition.
