It took Malaysia 22 years to drop from the inaugural TI CPI 1995 ranking of 23 to 62, but it took Muhyiddin 10 months as Prime Minister to drop from 51st to 62nd TI CPI ranking in 2020

Last night, while campaigning for Pakatan Harapan candidate Lee Kee Hiong in Kerling, I called on all political parties and candidates to declare their support for Anwar Ibrahim’s Ekonomi Madani for Malaysia to rise up again to become a great world-class nation.

I do not expect Perikatan Nasional (PN) or its leader, Muhyiddin Yassin to give any response, for he is the worst Malaysian Prime Minister in the fight against corruption.

He suspended Parliament in January 2021 to remove all checks and balances by Members of Parliament on the Executive, which allowed corruption and abuses of power to flourish.

Muhyiddin has another “distinction”.

It took Malaysia 22 years to drop from the inaugural Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perception Index (CP) 1995 ranking of 23 out of 41 countries to 62 out of 180 countries in 2017, but it took Muhyiddin 10 months to drop from 51st ranking in 2019 to 62nd ranking in 2020, which was revealed in January 2021.

I cannot think of a Prime Minister who has a worst record in fighting corruption than Muhyiddin Yassin.

The six state polls next week on August 12 is probably more important than the 15th General Election on Nov. 19, 2022.

This is because the results of the six state polls will decide whether Malaysia can rise again to become a great world-class nation or we are fated to end up as a divided, failed and corrupt state as intended by the PN in the next few decades.

The Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasonal coalition want to see Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, the three poorest states in Malaysia, to be as developed and well-off economically as Selangor, Penang and Negri Sembilan, the three top states in GDP per capita, and not Selangor, Penang and Negri Sembilan become as poor and undeveloped as Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.

I call on the voters of Banting to elect Papparaidu Veraman as State Asemblyman for Banting on August 12 so that Malaysia can only rise up again and become a great world-class nation based on unity among all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or region, and political stability in Malaysia.

I call on the people of Banting to save Malaysia on August 12!
