Lee Kee Hiong has made history as she is the first to be a candidate for the PH/BN coalition and not just PH

I am glad to be here with Lee Kee Hiong, as she has made history as she is the first to be the Pakatan Harapan/Barisan Nasional candidate for the Selangor State Assembly seat of Kuala Kubu Baharu and not just Pakatan Harapan candidate.

The six state polls on August 12 is more important than the individual seats themselves or the six states of Selangor, Penang, Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, as it will affect the future of Malaysia.

August 12 will decide whether Malaysia will rise up again to become a great world-class nation or we are going to continue to lose to other countries and end up as a divided, failed and corrupt state in the coming decades.

Yesterday, the country remembered Tun Dr. Ismail Abdul Rahman who was Deputy Prime Minister to Tun Razak as Prime Minister.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong has rightly called on all Malaysians, especially the leaders, to appreciate and emulate the exemplary leadership and statesmanship of the late Tun Ismail in nation-building.

It can be said that the lunch today with MIC leaders in Hulu Selangor to support Kee Hiong’s candidature is in support of the Yang di Pertuan Agong’s call to remember Tun Ismail and to emulate him in nation-building.

There is only one issue in the six state polls on August 12 – whether Malaysia will rise up again to become a great world-class nation or we are going to continue to lose out to other countries and end up as a divided, failed and corrupt state in the coming decades.

The battle in the six states is between the PH-BN coalition or Perikatan Nasional (PN) of PAS and Bersatu, and any weakening of PH-BN coalition will only benefit the PN coalition.

The PH-BN coalition stands for Malaysia rising up again to become a great world power, and the Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim has in fact announced in Ekonomi Madani efforts in this direction, viz:

  • Top 30 biggest economies in the world in terms of nominal gross domestic products. Malaysia currently ranks 35.
  • Top 12 in IMD World Competitive Index. The current rank is 27.
  • Top 25 in the UN Human Development Index. Current rank is 62.
  • Top 25 in the Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perception Index (CPI). Current rank is 61.

We must support the PH/BN coalition so that Malaysia can rise up again and become a great world-class nation as the PN has no plan whatsoever for Malaysia to rise again to become a great world-class nation.

In fact, from the way the Gerakan National Chairman was treated in a most humiliating manner at a PN function in Penang, there can be no doubt that PN has no plans to unite Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or region, to make Malaysia rise up again to become a world-class great nation.

I admire the MUDA candidates for their idealism, but they should not split votes in this titanic battle between Malaysia rising up again to become a great world-class nation or become a divided, failed and corrupt state.
