The six state polls tomorrow on August 12 is Malaysia’s tryst with destiny.
It is titanic contest between the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional coalition and the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.
One will emerge victor and other the loser in the six state polls.
PN is confident of a 5-1 sweep if not a 6-0 result.
If PN sweeps all the six states of Penang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantdan and Terengganu tomorrow, the future of Malaysia will be a bleak one.
As the Chinese say goes, 不怕一万,就怕万一。。( “We are not scared of ‘ten thousand,’ we are scared of the ‘just in case’.”)
Either we help the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional coalition to win or to lose as there is no other alternative.
The titanic battle between the two coalitions is whether Malaysia is to rise up again to become a great world-class nation or whether Malaysia is to continue in the present national decline until we become a divided, failed and corrupt state like Sri Lanka when Malaysia celebrates its Centennial in 2057.
Whatever the outcome of the six state polls tomorrow, the Anwar Unity Government at the national level will not fall – despite the machinations of PAS and Bersatu, which are trying to rustle up a Sheraton Move.2 political conspiracy to topple the Anwar government.
The very fact that the PN President Muhyiddin Yassin and the PAS President Hadi Awang had seen silent as to how they could topple the Anwar Unity Government is proof that they have no way to repeat the Sheraton Move conspiracy of February 2020 which toppled the 22-month Pakatan Harapan government.
But an adverse result in the six state polls tomorrow can affect the magnitude and speed or even success of change of policies and reform of institutions to make Malaysia rise up again to become a great world-class nation for Malaysia to take its place among the successful top nations in the world.
It can affect the scope, speed and success of achieving Ekonomi Madani announced by the Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim last month which, among other things, have the following objectives:
- Top 30 biggest economies in the world in terms of nominal gross domestic products. Malaysia currently ranks 35.
- Top 12 in IMD World Competitive Index. The current rank is 27.
- Top 25 in the UN Human Development Index. Current rank is 62.
- Top 25 in the Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perception Index (CPI). Current rank is 61.
Do we want Malaysia to rise up again and be a great world-class nation and achieve the objectives of Ekonomi Madani and even improve on them?
If Yes, then vote for the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional candidates in all the six states.
The PN of PAS and Bersatu has no plans or vision for Malaysia to rise up again and become a great world-class nation.
It can only capitalise on the lies, falsehoods, fake news and hate speech prevalent in the social media era which result in Malaysia becoming a divided, failed and corrupt nation into the coming decades.
If Malaysians support PN, then vote for PN.
As I said in the Pakatan Harapan/Barsian Nasional ceramah in Alor Setar last night, there is no other choice in the titanic battle between Great Right and Great Wrong for Malaysia in the six state polls tomorrow.
August 12 will be Malaysia’s tryst with destiny.
